"The mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be kindled."

Plutarch, On Listening to Lectures

Over the past few weeks I have been reflecting on my leadership. How do I inspire and fuel the leadership fire in others? What structures can I build and put in place to ensure leaders have an opportunity to do just that lead! Now I want to hear from you. How does this quote resonate with you as a mathematics leader? What connections does the quote illicit in your work? What have you done recently that is really working for you? Send me or your regional team leader how this quote is reflected in your practice so that we can highlight you within our region.

Thank you!

Thank you to each of our Regional Team Leaders. Please feel free to reach out to them (or me) if you have any questions or would like to share information.

So many great conferences…so little time!
The NCSM Annual Conference, Making Waves with Effective Math Leadership, will be held in San Diego from April 1-3, 2019. Don’t miss this exciting event in a beautiful city right on the water! Be sure to sign up to volunteer as well. The Western Region 1 Caucus will be held Tuesday afternoon and we would love to see you there!
